Please join us for an intimate, fun and powerful afternoon to support National People's Action Campaign.
National People's Action Campaign (NPAC) works coast to coast to put people and planet first in city halls, in state capitols and in Washington DC. Our group is made up of grassroots community leaders who are fighting to pass laws and elect leaders that support working families, poor people and that advance racial justice. So whether you’re a Bernie Sanders fan or a Hillary Clinton supporter, NPAC are the people who both pushes those candidates on their positions and keeps them accountable to their promises. We’re a vital force.
And more locally, you can look to both the budget fights in Chicago and in Springfield for great reasons to support NPAC. We’re part of the force that helped elect progressive Aldermen to City Hall – forcing a budget debate and opposition to Mayor Emanuel. And in Springfield, we’ve been working with local groups to fight against the drastic and draconian budget cuts that Governor Rauner has put in place. Progressive Aldermen like Carlos Rosa, the first openly gay aldermen in Chicago, were directly inspired by NPAC to run for office.
Why should you come to the House Party? Sure, you can always give online. But parties are way more fun than clicking on a link, and Ami Saraiya is one of our city’s foremost musical talents. Her stage presence is captivating and her songwriting is all parts catchy, soulful and joyous – check out some samples here. You don’t want to miss her.
